The various elements
that are part of the Content Manager allow non-expert users
to enter and modify all kind of content they may wish to publish
on the Internet, such as the Institutional Portal.
The project planning and management, the web design of the
prototype to be used (logo, colors, main buttons, banners)
and the training of end-users and CUSTOMER
technicians are the only phases the experts of infoBIZ
will be involved in, so that, the overall implementation in
production of the solution is assured.
After the implementation of the solution, the CUSTOMER
will be able to manage the contents of his Institutional Portal
independently, this means, without requiring the assistance
of either infoBIZ
or any other design or programming specialist
The Institutional Portal is the only access point to the
contents that are available for the public in general and
for the internal and external system users (Extranet/Intranet)
Users, working on a safe and user-friendly environment, can
access to the information and applications they need from
a unique access point with cooperation tools, information
and knowledge interchange.
The special quality of Content Portal is simply to give access
and make various contents available in accordance with the
access authorization each user may have.
Content Management
The Content Management adds more functions to the Portal
by enabling the content publication and management in any
format by any authorized user.
It is especially useful to publish contents easily and without
technical knowledge.
It allows contents to be customized according with the intended
audience, with hierarchical order and publication and expiration
dates.
It makes all the processes related to the content management
more dynamic and automatic.
The applications of the Content Management System are: Institutional
information, Banners, News, Product and Service Description,
Press Releases, Contact Forms, Event Calendar, Brochure and
Manual Publication, Images and documents publication in every
format compatible with Internet technology.
Security
The Management Site will have its own users (managers) and
a security module that will set permissions for the operations
that each user is allowed to do.
In order to have access to the Management Site, a person should
have a user name created and his/her name, surname, e-mail
address and password entered. The new manager can change the
password later by accessing to the Manager Site.
The security module will be implemented by functions and roles.
Functions are related to certain items of the Management menu
and, in turn, can be related either to a user or to a role.
Technological Architecture
The Architecture comprises a number of relevant decisions
about the organization of a System: the selection of the framework
and the interfaces by which a system is made of together with
its performance that is determined by the interaction of these
elements.
The Portal System with Content Management is based on a Web
application Service which creates an environment that provides
connectivity, management and presentation of the services
required by the user.
On the chosen model, the interface with the user is displayed
on the browser and the application services are split in several
layers.
Presentation Services
Presentation Services will be provided by the Web Server
which will hold the PHP pages responsible for:
- Generating the graphic interface with the User
- Keeping the graphic interface control
- Receiving, formatting and validating user requirements
- Communicating with Business services to perform the required
operations
- Presentation services interact with the user's browser
through HTTP/HTTPS protocols and the GUI is determined with
HTML markup language.
Business Services
Business Services will be implemented in a PHP class library
that will hold the entire business logic of the "back-end".
This will be available to the "middleware" provided
by THE CUSTOMER.
