Structured Cabling

We all agree that information is the most valuable asset of a Company. If so, we have to be extremely careful about the quality of the medium transmitting these data from servers, hubs, switches, routers and other communication equipment, to the end users' terminals. The laying out or maintenance of the structured cabling should not be performed at random.

If data are sent and received through defective, low-quality, damaged cables which may be also outdoor-installed or twisted together with high voltage cables, your information will unlikely arrive with the same quality with which it was sent, the data might be lost on the way, or it may not simply arrive. Nowadays, when transmission speeds rival each other with processing speeds, a reliable architecture guarantees a 100% leveraging of voice, data, images and sound with no bottlenecks thereby making the most of your company's investment. The useful life of a well performed cabling is of about 20 years.

Problems you may face if you do not have a structured cabling:

  • Delay in the applications and network overload following a high rate of packets retransmission
  • Underutilization of communication equipments, servers, new equipments, etc.
  • Impossible exponential growth.
  • Difficulties to identify communication problems
  • Impossibility in uploading further applications to the network.
  • Service outages.

If you have a structured cabling you may reap the following benefits:

  • Very low collision level.
  • Full utilization of hubs, switches, servers, bandwidths, etc.
  • Possibility of unlimited growth through the cabling. You can switch from 10 to 100 or up to 1000 megas by just changing the switches or the network cards. Not the cabling.
  • The network growth capacity will be limited to the servers and not to the support.
  • Easy management. Knowledge, through maps, of where from and to the cables go through.
  • Data security. Reliability.
  • Guaranteed image.

If you have a Lan or wish to do so, thereby making the most of your investment on equipment, contact us and we will advice you on the most convenient solution for your Company and your budget.
